Visitors arriving in Tanzania can obtain a visa upon arrival at major entry points, including international airports such as Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) near Arusha, Julius Nyerere International Airport in Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro International Airport, and Abeid Amani Karume International Airport in Zanzibar. It’s essential to check the latest visa requirements and fees with the Tanzanian government or your nearest Tanzanian embassy or consulate before your trip to ensure a smooth entry process.

Tanzania Immigration Department

It is advisable that you bring USD (United States Dollars) and, upon arrival, withdraw some Tanzanian Shillings. ATMs are available at JRO Airport and in Arusha city. Although most locations you visit will accept USD, it’s a good idea to have local currency with you.

It is necessary for you to have vaccines before your trip. About three months before to departure, every traveler should see their own physician or a travel health clinic. Before visiting Tanzania, find out from your doctor which immunizations are advised by your government. The yellow fever It is required to have a vaccination at least ten days prior to travel to Tanzania. Tetanus, Polio, and Malaria (prophylaxis) vaccinations are the other recommended immunizations.

When visiting Tanzania, you should plan to fly into Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) in Dar es Salaam if you’re heading to the eastern or southern parts of Tanzania. If your destination is in the northern regions, like Kilimanjaro or Serengeti, Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) is a better choice. When you book your spot, a 20% deposit is required to be paid. The methods listed below can be used to pay the outstanding amount: Money in USD prior to the commencement of the tour.

Prior to the trip beginning, pay with a credit or debit card, plus a 5% processing fee. ( Relevant to Tanzania as a whole) At least four weeks in advance, pay by bank transfer.
