7-day mid range safari to serengeti wildebeest migration

Overview

This 7-day tour will take you around the best places in Tanzania, visiting sites such as Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, and the Ngorongoro Crater, also known as the Garden of Eden. Depending on the timing of your tour, you may get a chance to see the great annual migration as thousands of wildebeest and zebra cross the Mara River.

Itinerary

A driver from Sitatuga Safari Ltd will greet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport and deliver you to your hotel. We'll have free time the remainder of the day. You will go to the tour briefing in the evening to be ready for the safari. You will be staying full-board.

Accommodation at Arusha Planet Lodge

At 7:30 am, we will come to your Arusha hotel and take you on a three-hour trip to Tarangire National Park. You will go on a full-day game drive inside the park as soon as you arrive. We will transport you to the Farm of Dreams Lodge later on so you can spend the night and have dinner there. The 2800 km2 Tarangire National Park is located 115 miles from Arusha. The Tarangire River, from which the park gets its name, supplies water to wild animals. The fauna of the park, which includes lions, elephants, leopard pythons, and numerous tree species like the baobab tree, are its main draws.

After breakfast, we'll head into the lush highlands where the Iraqi people cultivate corn, wheat, and coffee. We will travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and stop at the breathtaking Ngorongoro Crater. A volcano erupted, creating this crater about 3 million years ago. After there, we'll carry on to the Serengeti National Park. In Mara, the Maasai people's original language, the word "serengeti" means "endless plains." It will be around noon when we get to the park. With its many landscapes and habitats, including grassy plains, swamps, lakes, savannahs, and mountains, the Serengeti is the largest national park in Tanzania. You might be able to see thousands of animals as they move through the area every year, looking for food and water, depending on the season. Following a long game drive, we will take you to Central Serengeti Luxury Camp, your lodge, where you will spend the night and have dinner.

Game drives in the Serengeti National Park take place throughout the whole day. Animals including impalas, buffalos, crocodiles, and hippos can be found in plenty in the Serengeti. But its yearly zebra and wildebeest migration is what makes it more famous. The animals move at different times of the year depending on the amount of rainfall that occurs. The animals migrate in November and December from the hilly and wooded northern region to the grassy plains of the southern region. In April and May, when the rainy season lasts longer, they migrate back north. You may be able to spot predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards that are constantly in the area in addition of the migratory herds.

You'll go on another game drive in the Serengeti National Park after breakfast. Before you drive to Ngorongoro Crater, you may see the Big Five (lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard). The unfenced areas allow the animals to move freely, providing a game-viewing experience that is uninterrupted. When you reach the edge of the crater, you can get a preview of what's in store for you the next day: shimmering streams, wide-open grasslands, and an endless supply of wildlife. The Rhino Lodge is located on the edge of the crater, and you will spend the night there. As you go to sleep, the orange glow of the sunset will surround you.

An amazing sight of the sun rising over the edge of the crater greets early risers! You will drive down the daring route into the crater after a filling brunch. One of the Seven Wonders of Africa and one of the most amazing ecosystems on Earth, this UNESCO World Heritage Site was created millions of years ago by a tremendous volcanic explosion. It spans around 260 square kilometers and is 610 meters deep. Of all the parks in Tanzania, the crater provides the best game-viewing because of its rich animal population, which numbers about 25,000. You can witness elephants, zebras, gazelles, wildebeests, and some of the region's more than 500 bird species in a matter of minutes. With some luck, you might be able to spot the critically endangered black rhino through the grass. You will drive back to Arusha for dinner and an overnight stay at Arusha Planet Lodge following your wildlife drives in the Ngorongoro Crater.
